However, Provencio is now out on bond and is living in the Caldwell area since May 22.Sylvester ProvencioAccording to Sumner County Court Documents, Edward Baker of 324 West First in Caldwell, who is listed as having the same address as Provencio, provided the lump sum of Provencio’s $100,000 cash bond levied by District Judge Scott McQuin.Baker’s $100,000 deposit allowed the release of Provencio, provided he appears for all court dates, and has no contact with Gregory Schneider, 53, and Bryan Nispel, 55, of Caldwell who are the alleged victims in the case. Baker will get back the $100,000 after the end of all court proceedings and a verdict is rendered, provided Provencio does not take flight. A bond acts much like a loan and Baker’s cash is the collateral used by the court system to make sure the defendant abides by the rules.Meanwhile, Reedy sits in jail. His attorney Sal Intagliata of Wichita, has filed a motion to reduce bond in district court on June 5 “so that Mr. Reedy may assist in the preparation of his defense.â€McQuin had earlier declined both men’s request to reduce bond from $100,000 to $50,000 in a first appearance proceeding in May. Reedy and Provencio are accused of attacking Schneider and Nispel, who allegedly had stopped to assist them after they had a white pickup stuck in the mud. Both Gregory Schneider, 53, and Bryan Nispel, 55 of Caldwell sustained injuries from the alleged attack.
