NOW DONEGAL COUNTY COUNCIL MEETINGS COULD BE BROADCAST LIVE ON LINE

first_imgA motion seeking the cost of having council meetings streamed live on line is to be brought before Donegal County Council today.Council meetings could be streamed on line in Donegal. The motion is to be put down by Independent Cllr Michael Mac Giolla Easbuig in Lifford. If affordable, the council is to be asked to stream meetings live so all members of the public can log on to watch proceedings. Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig told Donegal Daily “It’s something that I believe would certainly benefit the public and allow them to see what is done in the council chamber.“They hear enough in the media about what goes on in the chamber. I think by seeing it on line, we as councillors will open ourselves up to the public more.“We have to be transparent and I feel this would be a perfect way of doing that.“Of course, a lot will depend on the costings to see if it feasible and that is why I am putting the motion down,” he said.
