CAPPRY ROVERSSt Catherine’s 3-1 Cappry RoversCappry were back in Brian McCormick Cup action at the weekend when they took on St Catherines in the Donegal Town Area Final which was played in Killybegs on Sunday.Luke O’Farrell scored in the 30th minute to put Cappry ahead against the run of play. St Catherine’s could have been 4 up before Cappry scored. Unfortunately Luke O’Farrell had to go off before half time when he pulled his hamstring. St Catherine’s scored 2 goals before half time to go in at the break with a deserved lead.Cappry came out in the 2nd half and give a better account of themselves. They could have won the game had they converted the chances they created. St Catherine’s scored their 3rd goal with time nearly up as Cappry were chasing the game. Team performance from Cappry.They are kicking off their league campaign next Sunday when they play host to St Catherine’s. Kick off 2pm in Cappry Park.Please come and show your support for Seamus and the lads.CAPPRY ROVERS RESERVES Cappry Rovers Reserves 2-1 Curragh Athletic ReservesOnce again the home team fielded a young team with a few experience players mixed through them. The home start well against breeze and had a few early chances but couldn’t find the target. In the 23rd minute the home took the lead when Conor Laverty finished well from a Conor McGlynn pass. Cappry should of made it 2-0 in 35th minute when Karl McGlynn went through but saw his effort to lob the keeper drift wide. Curragh started the 2nd half well and got there reward for the good start in 55th minute when Don Maguire fired low into the bottom corner. Cappry were nearly back in front in the 68th minute but Curragh keeper saved well from Neil Patrick McDaid. Cappry did take the lead again in 76th minute when Matthew McGinley found Conor McGlynn who made no mistake from just inside the box. The Curragh pushed hard 2 get a 2nd goal but were unable to find a way through the Cappry defence. Two team performances.The lads are back in action again on Saturday when they play in the quarter final of the Voodoo Venue Cup against Glenea United Reserves.
