Nintendo announces Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition with custom US

first_imgIf you’re waiting to pick up a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U this December, Nintendo just made the release that bit more special with the announcement of a Special Edition for US gamers. The standard edition of the game will cost $59.99 and launches on December 4. The Special Edition will release on the same day and includes a matted art card, 11 x 7.75-inch 100+ page art book, custom design USB stick complete with game soundtrack (10 songs), and a standard retail copy of the game all packaged inside a custom box. Pricing has not been revealed, but I suspect it will be in the $80-$100 range considering the contents.Xenoblade Chronicles X is not a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii. Nintendo and developer Monolith Soft describe it as a spiritual successor, and players of the Wii game will feel right at home. X retains many features of the last gen title including a very similar battle system and quest log. It’s a game true to the Xeno series.Having been on sale in Japan since April there are already multiple reviews of the game, which have all been very positive. If you like action RPGs and own a Wii U then this is definitely a game to add to your pre-order list. Best Buy has already said to keep an eye on its existing Xenoblade Chronicles X page as it will add a pre-order link for the Special Edition if and when it appears. Other retailers will likely do the same and allow for existing pre-order transfers.Hopefully Nintendo will make the Special Edition available to retailers and not try to limit sales by offering it through their own store alone. However, there will be limited stock so as soon as you see the pre-orders go up grab your copy to avoid disappointment.last_img
