Griffin Elementary honored as a National Blue Ribbon School


first_img30Sep Griffin Elementary honored as a National Blue Ribbon School Griffin Elementary School in Grand Haven have been named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School.“This is a wonderful achievement and I congratulate the students, parents and staff on this honor,” said Rep. Amanda Price, R-Park Township. “This is a wonderful team effort in the Grand Haven Area Public Schools district. The Griffin students are not only being recognized for their performance on state assessments, but also graded for attendance and graduation rates.”The U.S. Department of Education (USED) annually bestows the exemplary designation on 13 schools in each state from nominees it receives. This year, the Department recognized 329 schools nationally for the Blue Ribbon Award. The National Blue Ribbon Schools program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools.“Considering there are over a thousand schools in the state of Michigan, to be recognized as among the 13 best says everything about the dedication of the students, parents and staff that make Griffin Elementary the school that it is,” said Rep.
